How Shibarbie Was Born

Shibarbie didn’t start as a brand.
It started as a vibe.

From the very beginning of my rope journey, I showed up to class exactly as I was; pink, glam makeup, lashes on, and fully committed to letting my personality shine. Rope spaces often leaned practical, and tactical and while I deeply respect utility, I knew pretty quickly that that aesthetic wasn’t going to work for me.

I wanted my rope kit to feel like an extension of who I am. I wanted rope gear that matched my energy. I wanted a bag I actually liked carrying not a massive tactical backpack, suitcase, or laundry bag but something cute, intentional, and fun. So my rope bag slowly became my bag. Pink accents. Bag charms. Accessories. A little sparkle. A lot of personality.

After class, people would come up to me and say things like:

“I love your makeup.”
“Your bag is so cute.”
“Where did you get that charm?”

It wasn’t just about how things looked it was about feeling comfortable, confident, and fully yourself in a space.

Then came cell class - Shoutout to From the Ground Up: Memphis

During the final exams, I showed up wearing a pink t-shirt. Fully on brand. Fully unbothered. Somewhere between the knots, the technique, and the late-night studying ( sometimes myself and my model would be up to 2 or 3 am studying for exams) my classmates started calling me “Shibarbie” a playful mix of rope and sparkle energy that somehow fit perfectly.

And just like that, the name stuck.

What started as a nickname turned into something bigger. Shibarbie became a way to say:

You can be skilled and soft.
You can be technical and glam.
You can take rope seriously without taking yourself out of the equation.

Shibarbie is for the ones who want their rope gear to feel personal. For the folks who want sparkle. For the people who show up pink, prepared, and unapologetically themselves.

This brand exists because I couldn’t find what I was looking for so I decided to make it or source it from community makers, and now I can help bring that to YOU!

You’re a Shibarbie too.
